Volunteers relax after a busy day

Looking to get Involved?

Volunteers help with all phases of the Living Archaeology Weekend event by

​

  • assisting with hand-on activities for visitors,

  • managing the flow of visitors,

  • running errands for demonstrators, and

  • assisting with event logistics.

​

​

Recent volunteers include ...

  • Students from Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, and other schools

  • Members of organizations like Boy Scouts, Red River Historical Society, and Kentucky Chapter of the Society for the Preservation of Old Mills

  • Employees of contract firms such as Gray & Pape, Brockington and Associates, and Wood

  • Employees of state agencies like Ky Heritage Council and Ky Transportation Cabinet

  • Employees of Natural Resources Conservation Service and other federal agencies

  • Wonderful individual citizens
